POLICE took to the skies over Tranent last night (Tuesday) to find a missing man.
The police helicopter was deployed at about 10.50pm, but the missing 38-year-old man was found about half an hour later.
He was located near Haddington Road, to the east of the town.
A statement on Lothians and Scottish Borders Police Division's Facebook page added: "Local residents may have heard our helicopter out last night around 10.50pm.
"It was a search for a missing person, and our colleagues from air support played a huge part in tracing the person quickly."
The incident sparked speculation among locals as to why the helicopter was over Tranent.
