THE A1 was closed eastbound (southbound) at Dolphingstone Junction this afternoon following a crash.
Motorists reported seeing multiple police vehicles and an ambulance at the scene of the incident, which took place during heavy rainfall.

Eastbound traffic was directed off the road at Dolphingstone Junction and could then rejoin further up.
The road reopened later in the afternoon.
A police spokesperson said: "Police were called around 2.25pm to a report of a one-car crash near the Dolphingstone slip and the driver has been taken to hospital as a precaution."
