MEMBERS of the public are being asked to help pick up and track nurdles on North Berwick’s beaches.
Nurdles are small pellets of plastic used as the raw material in the production of plastic items. They can be harmful to marine wildlife and birds.
The town’s Scottish Seabird Centre is running nurdle hunts throughout the year with the hope of counting how many are found in 2024.
Tomorrow (Friday) a nurdle hunt takes place at East and West Beach in North Berwick, with volunteers asked to meet at the centre at 11am.
All are welcome to participate, with under-16s asked to bring a responsible adult.
