Rail users are being advised not to park their cars at North Berwick Fire Station whilst the town’s train station car park is closed.
Scotrail has closed the car park today and tomorrow to allow line painting to take place.
A source told the Courier that some commuters had moved barriers put up at the car park this morning and parked in spaces.
The source said that painting was unable to take place today as a result.
With limited parking available for commuters in the town, a social media post from North Berwick Fire Station has asked commuters not to use the station to park their cars as this could block emergency vehicles.
The post read: “While the train station car park in North Berwick is closed over the next few days, can we politely ask that you do not use the fire station car park to take your train journey.
“As convenient as it may be, our firefighters need these parking spaces so that we can respond as quickly as possible to an emergency situation within the town.
“Thanks for your understanding.”
Tape has been placed over parking spaces at the fire station to stop people from parking their vehicles there.
Scotrail has been approached for comment.
