MORE than a dozen East Lothian businesses will be hoping to scoop prizes at a prestigious ceremony this evening (Thursday).

Finalists in the Midlothian and East Lothian Business Awards, organised by the local chamber of commerce, have been revealed.

Winners will be crowned at Eskmills in Musselburgh.

The awards are a highlight of the business calendar and offer East Lothian and Midlothian businesses the opportunity to promote major achievements and celebrate success.

Keith Barbour, chamber president, said: "The chamber team would like to say a huge thank you to every business who entered, and the calibre of entries and finalists has been phenomenal.

"This shows just how resilient, innovative and adaptable the East Lothian and Midlothian businesses are to these challenging times."

Wild Cairns, which aims to build a new facility at Whitekirk Hill, is in the running for Best Commitment to Youth Development, while the Musselburgh-based Teapot Trust SCIO is up for Best Community Impact.

The Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick is a finalist in the Best Tourism Business category, while Musselburgh’s Parrilla Argentinian Grill is up for the Best Eatery prize.

Belhaven Smokehouse, Haddington-based Winton Brewery and The Crumbleologist in Musselburgh are up for the Food & Drink Producer of the Year accolade.

The Brand Family at East Fortune; Macmac Cleaning Services Ltd, near Macmerry; and True Potential Wealth Management, of Musselburgh, are finalists in the Family Business of the Year category.

Fidra Scaffolding Ltd, of North Berwick; Gensource, of Musselburgh; and East Saltoun’s Healthcraft Herbs Ltd are up for the New Business of the Year.

Finally, Macmac Cleaning Services Ltd is joined by Station House Bakery, of Haddington, as a finalist for the Micro Business of the Year.
