A MUSSELBURGH man will be sentenced next month after he appeared in court to admit behaving in a threatening manner towards police officers.
Scott Hutchison, 41, was being taken to St Leonard’s Police Station on a separate matter when he became aggressive and abusive towards the constables.
Hutchison shouted and swore at the officers, and made offensive and derogatory remarks towards them while being taken to the Edinburgh station in the back of the police vehicle.
Hutchison, of Ashgrove Place, also issued threats to fight with the officers during the incident on September 26 last year.
He appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, where he pleaded guilty.
The court was told that the charge was also aggravated by religious prejudice.
Sheriff John Cook deferred sentence on Hutchison to next month for the preparation of social work reports.
