MUSSELBURGH Over 50s Club has been busy fundraising for the Hollies Community Hub.
Carol Edmond, club organiser, and Irene Ferrie and Jeanette Ret, also from the club, presented a cheque for £1,000 to Karl Cleghorn, convenor and trustee at the Hollies.
Local businesses donate prizes for raffles organised by the club, which holds an event once a month at the Store Club on North High Street.
Carol urged others to follow suit to support the High Street hub, which provides a lunch club for elderly people.
The Hollies is seeking to move forward to a “modern, purposeful and sustainable future” after being at risk of closure last November. A grant of £30,000 from the Musselburgh Common Good Fund was agreed by East Lothian Council.
