A takeaway on a town High Street has suffered a break-in overnight.

Jade Garden, a Chinese takeaway in Prestonpans, took to social media to share frustration at the incident, sharing a CCTV image of the alleged thief.

The individual’s face has been blurred for legal reasons.

A spokesperson for the business said: “Unfortunately, in the early hours of this morning we were broken into by this low life.

“We are a family business who work so hard to serve the community and would appreciate your help to find this person.

“If you have any information that might help please call 101 and quote incident number 1071 of April 20, 2024.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.35am on Saturday, 20 April 2024 we were called to a report of a housebreaking at business premises in High Street, Prestonpans.

“Officers attended and enquiries are ongoing.”
