A DUNBAR man who drove carelessly and struck a teenage girl with his car has been fined and had penalty points placed on his licence.
Janusz Olszewski, of Floors Terrace, drove his vehicle into the path of pedestrians, causing the car to strike the 15-year-old girl on the body.
The collision caused the girl to fall to the ground, resulting in an injury, at the town’s Belhaven Road on March 20, 2022.
The 69-year-old motorist admitted a charge of driving without due care and attention and injuring the girl when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Monday.
He also had a not guilty plea accepted by the Crown to failing to report the incident to police within 24 hours on the same date.
Sheriff Roderick Flinn ordered Olszewski to pay a fine of £210 and placed three penalty points on his driving licence.
