POLICE are appealing for help after a dog attack in Musselburgh left a dog and its owner injured.
The incident happened around 2pm yesterday in Goose Green Place.
Police said a Shih Tzu was attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier type dog leaving it with back and neck injuries.
The dog's owner suffered minor injuries as he tried to protect his pet.
The dog which carried out the attack is described as tan in colour and may go by the name of Mylo.
It was with two men at the time.
Constable Calum Hutchison of Musselburgh Police Station said: "I am looking to identify the males seen with the Staffordshire bull terrier and to establish who the owner is.
"Anyone who saw the incident on Saturday or who has information that can help me to trace the males or the owner is asked to please contact me."
