England’s Paul Eales claimed his first victory in more than two decades years as he launched a stunning final round to win the Prostate Cancer UK Scottish Senior Open.
Eales trailed overnight leader Ronan Rafferty by seven shots, starting his final round on seven-under-par.
He reduced the deficit with a birdie on the second, and despite a bogey on the eighth, moved up the leaderboard thanks to birdies on the 10th, 11th and 12th holes.
Eales birdied the last to take the lead with a final round of four-under-par.
He faced an anxious wait before the final two groups completed their rounds, but with Peter Fowler and Santiago Luna unable to join him on 11-under, he took the title.
Afterwards, the 53-year-old said: "It’s special to come to Archerfield, one of my favourite places on the planet. To win a title in Scotland, the home of golf, is a privilege.”
