IF THE football beats the weather this afternoon (Saturday), there are plenty of games for fans to choose from.

All six of the county’s senior sides are in action and at home.

In the Scottish Lowland Football League, Tranent host East Stirlingshire as they look to put pressure on league leaders East Kilbride.

In the top flight of the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL), Dunbar United, Haddington Athletic and Musselburgh Athletic will all have the backing of home fans.

The Seasiders welcome Kinnoull, while Haddington take on Dundonald Bluebell, and Musselburgh host Sauchie.

Preston Athletic will welcome Oakley United in the First Division and Ormiston Primrose host Newburgh in the Second Division.

Match of the Day

Ormiston Primrose v Newburgh

East of Scotland Football League Second Division

Kick-off 1.30pm

ONLY goal difference separates Ormiston Primrose and Newburgh at the bottom of the Second Division.

The Fife side sit one place higher up the table due to their superior goal difference but a win for either side could be enough to move them out of the relegation zone.

Both sides have won two league contests this campaign.

Ormiston have scored 22 goals – eight more than their rivals – but have leaked 24 more.

A victory for either side would be a big psychological boost in the fight to avoid the drop.

Tranent v East Stirlingshire

Scottish Lowland Football League

Kick-off 3pm

CUP contests mean Tranent have not battled for three points since November 11.

Clashes with Lugar Boswell Thistle, Forfar Athletic and Sauchie Juniors have meant the bid for the Lowland League title has been put on hold.

Currently, they trail East Kilbride by 11 points but with two games in hand that advantage can be narrowed.

A home tie against former Scottish Professional Football League stalwarts East Stirlingshire would seem to present an ideal opportunity to pick up a win.

Dunbar United v Kinnoull

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

DUNBAR United and Kinnoull both enjoyed promotion to the top flight of the EoSFL at the end of last season.

That is where the similarities would seem to end with the Seasiders sitting fourth in the table and their visitors bottom of the standings.

A win for Kevin Haynes and his team would represent their tenth victory of the campaign in the league.

In contrast, Kinnoull need to start picking up points to avoid an immediate return to the First Division.

Haddington Athletic v Dundonald Bluebell

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

SEVENTH placed Haddington welcome Dundonald Bluebell, who sit just two places below them.

Only three points separate the two sides, who were due to meet on cup business last weekend before it was postponed.

This time, three points are at stake as Haddington look to put a poor run of form behind them.

Musselburgh Athletic v Sauchie Juniors

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

TITLE-CHASING Musselburgh Athletic and Sauchie Juniors face off at Olivebank knowing only a win will really do in their bid to catch Broxburn Athletic.

The West Lothian side are eight points clear at the top of the table and a further two points ahead of Musselburgh.

Liam Burns and his team will be looking to pick up three points as they approach the halfway stage of the campaign.

Preston Athletic v Oakley United

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Kick-off 1.30pm

INCONSISTENCY has plagued Preston this campaign and they will be looking for a win to get back into the top half of the First Division.

Oakley United would seem to present an ideal opportunity to get three points.

The visitors have picked up just five points from a possible 33 and sit in the relegation zone.

In contract, Preston could move into the top six depending on results.
