CUP action takes centre stage this afternoon (Saturday) – if the games can beat the weather conditions first.

All six East Lothian sides were due to be in action across three separate competitions.

Both Musselburgh Athletic and Haddington Athletic were due to face third round trips in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.

However, Musselburgh's trip to Harthill Royal and Haddington's clash with Dundonald Bluebell are off.

And Preston Athletic's King Cup contest with Arniston Rangers is also off.

That leaves a fourth round East of Scotland Qualifying Cup for Tranent, who welcome Jeanfield Swifts.

Ormiston Primrose face a second round King Cup tie against Vale of Leithen and, finally, Dunbar United are at home to Cumbernauld Colts in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup.

Match of the Day

Tranent v Jeanfield Swifts

East of Scotland Qualifying Cup – Round Four

Kick-off 3pm

FIFTH in the Scottish Lowland Football League plays fifth in the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) Premier Division.

The Belters and their visitors were previously together in the top flight of the EoSFL before Tranent secured promotion to the fifth tier in 2022.

Now, they are paired together in the fourth round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.

Ian Little’s men got back on the winning trail with victory at Gala Fairydean Rovers last weekend and will be looking for more of the same.

Their visitors have only lost twice in the league this campaign and could yet test Broxburn at the top of the table, depending on results in their games in hand.

Harthill Royal v Musselburgh Athletic

East of Scotland Qualifying Cup – Round Three

Kick-off 1.30pm

A TRIP to the western edge of the EoSFL was on the cards for Musselburgh Athletic.

Burgh moved up to second in the EoSFL Premier Division with a victory over Haddington Athletic at the weekend.

Two defeats in the league this season shows impressive form and they would have been in confident mood at Harthill.

However, the game was called off this morning.

Dundonald Bluebell v Haddington Athletic

East of Scotland Qualifying Cup – Round Three

Kick-off 2.30pm

A PITCH inspection this morning saw the game between Dundonald Bluebell and Haddington Athletic called off.

Postponements have already delayed this game from being played and both sides will be keen to get it played as soon as possible.

Haddington sit seventh in the table with their hosts one place further back.

Dundonald have four games in hand over their rivals and it looks like being another closely contested game.

Arniston Rangers v Preston Athletic

King Cup – Round Two

Kick-off 1.30pm

AN ALL-FIRST Division affair was due to pit Preston Athletic against Arniston Rangers in the King Cup.

Preston occupy a top half spot in the standings while their hosts have slipped into the relegation zone on goal difference.

Fine margins have often been Preston’s undoing this campaign and they would have been keen to get a winning run going.

Ormiston Primrose v Vale of Leithen

King Cup – Round Two

Kick-off.1.30pm

TWO teams struggling for form in separate divisions are due to meet at New Recreation Park.

Currently, Ormiston prop up the Second Division with seven points from 14 games.

Their opponents are yet to pick up a single league point and have lost all 14 of their league contests.

Both teams will be hoping a win can provide a little bit of momentum in the second half of the season.

Dunbar United v Cumbernauld Colts

South of Scotland Challenge Cup – Round Four

Kick-off 2.30pm

FOURTH in the EoSFL Premier Division welcomes high-flying Cumbernauld Colts from the league above.

Kevin Haynes and his team have enjoyed a memorable campaign back in the top flight of the EoSFL.

Back-to-back promotions looks a tall order but the Seasiders have more than established themselves in the Premier Division.

Meanwhile, their visitors are enjoying a campaign to remember in the fifth tier and look on course for an impressive finish.
