ALEX Marshall is one match away from adding to his phenomenal record at the World Indoor Bowls Championships.

The six-time singles champion overcame compatriot and good friend Paul Foster in the semi-final just minutes ago.

A tie-break was needed to separate the pair after Foster won the first set 7-6 before Marshall responded to win the second set 10-5.

The Tranent bowler took the first end of the tie-break before a memorable last bowl ended the contest and sent Marshall through to face Stewart Anderson in tomorrow's (Sunday) final.

Speaking to the BBC immediately after the victory, Marshall, who is a 14-time world indoor champion, said: "My form has not been great against Paul in recent years, although he has been just phenomenal, but today I felt I do just nothing wrong.

"I felt so confident on the rink.

"I felt relaxed, I felt I could beat any bowl and it was shot for shot many times.

"What a match, an absolutely fantastic match, and thanks to the crowd."
