TRANENT face a potential must-win encounter with Lowland League leaders East Kilbride this evening (Tuesday).

The Belters trail the champions-elect by 14 points but have two games in hand over their rivals.

The two sides are yet to meet in the league this campaign but Tranent know that any slip up will likely hand the title to the K Park side.

A Kallum Higginbotham hat-trick helped Tranent to three points away to Gretna 2008 on Saturday.

At the same time, East Kilbride edged closer to the title thanks to a 2-1 win at Cowdenbeath, managed by former Tranent boss Calum Elliot.

Tranent and East Kilbride did meet in the second round of the Scottish Cup at the end of October when the Belters thumped their rivals 7-0.

Cammy Ross scored four while Broque Watson added two and Higginbotham was also on target.

The game, in East Kilbride, kicks off at 7.45pm.
