LEAGUE football returns for East Lothian’s sides as all chase three points.

There is a top of the table clash for Musselburgh Athletic, who travel to Broxburn Athletic in the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) Premier Division.

Meanwhile, Dunbar United host Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts and Haddington Athletic travel to Luncarty.

Preston Athletic host Whitburn Juniors in the First Division while Ormiston Primrose welcome Burntisland Shipyard in the Second Division.

In the Scottish Lowland Football League, Tranent will look for three points at home to Heart of Midlothian B.

Match of the Day

Broxburn Athletic v Musselburgh Athletic

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

A MASSIVE game in the destination of the EoSFL Premier Division title takes place at Albyn Park.

Broxburn have led for the majority of the season and boast a 13-point lead over second placed Hutchison Vale.

Musselburgh are three points further adrift but have three games in hand over the table-topping West Lothian side.

Anything less than a win for Musselburgh will surely allow Broxburn to start thinking about the possibility of promotion.

Scottish Lowland Football League

Kick-off 3pm

DEFEAT in midweek at East Kilbride has probably killed off any lingering hopes of a title challenge for Tranent.

Leading 2-0, they lost 3-2 at the long-time league leaders.

That disappointment now must be cast aside as the Belters look to finish at least second in the table.

One point separates Ian Little’s men from the Hearts B team and it promises to be an entertaining contest.

Kick-off 2.30pm

SIXTH placed Dunbar United host an Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts side who are still looking over their shoulders.

The Seasiders have enjoyed an impressive return to the top flight of the EoSFL and will still have realistic hopes of finishing the best of the rest.

With that in mind, it was the Fife side who won the reverse fixture back in August.

Dunbar will be looking to ensure their visitors to New Countess Park are not celebrating a double.

Luncarty v Haddington Athletic

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

A STORMING start to the season has been replaced by inconsistency as of late for Haddington.

The Hi Hi still sit in the top half of the table but have only picked up three points on two occasions since the middle of October.

Despite that run of form, Haddington’s hosts will likely be envious of the points tally.

Luncarty sit second bottom of the table and have only picked up two victories this season.

They will need to improve that form if they are to have any chance of avoiding an immediate return to the First Division.

Preston Athletic v Whitburn Juniors

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

PROMOTION-CHASING Whitburn Juniors make their first trip to the Pennypit in a number of years.

The West Lothian side sit fifth in the First Division table and eight points ahead of their hosts.

Preston will be keen to get back to winning ways and secure a top half finish.

Only goal difference has them out of the top half and an impressive home showing would be most welcome.

Ormiston Primrose v Burntisland Shipyard

East of Scotland Football League Second Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

THREE points against Newburgh lifted Ormiston off the bottom of the table and reignited their hopes of avoiding the drop.

A further three points separates them from Tweedmouth Rangers, who sit just outside the relegation zone.

Burntisland Shipyard will pose a challenge though with the Fife side sitting with more than double the points of their East Lothian hosts.

A 5-1 defeat for Ormiston in the fourth round of fixtures shows the challenge that they will be up against.
